Our newest asset: Donny!

Adecs AirSystems is growing! That is why we have recently welcomed a new colleague. We would like to introduce to you our newest asset, Donny (Technical consultant and project manager)!

My name is Donny den Boer and in June 2019 I made the transition from Rotterdam The Hague Airport to Adecs AirSystems (Adecs). Although the switch from customer to supplier was quite suddenly, the journey towards it started much earlier!

In my early career I worked in Logistics/IT. After a few years I wanted a change from the daily grind. So, I started as a Duty Manager Operations at Rotterdam The Hague Airport, in the ever-changing field of aviation. My first contact with Adecs was back in 2011, when they implemented their previous AODB called “LHIS” at the airport. Then I got to combine my past experience in Logistics/IT and my current knowledge in airport operations; I became a key user during the implementation of Adecs’ newest operational database ‘AirLink’. It would replace the aging LHIS at Rotterdam The Hague Airport, Groningen Airport Eelde and Maastricht Aachen Airport.

During the years that followed, I got to know Adecs as an excellent partner in software development. Especially one who left us carefree on the most critical piece of software of airport operations.

In 2016, I switched from operations to IT as an application manager, because of the growing IT needs of the airport. After enjoying this time, during which I gained a lot of airport related IT skills and knowledge, I was up for a change again. It was then that Adecs offered me a job as a technical consultant and project manager. It was hard to leave the airport, but it helped that I was welcomed by a group of familiar faces at Adecs. I found my place amongst a team of professionals who all have the same passion for aviation and technology as I have.

It is my goal to use all my experience to help other regional airports not only by implementing our software, but also to help improving their operational processes and learn again from other points of view of different airports.
